Rainmeter Countdown Clock by jrweinman

This is a countdown clock skin for Rainmeter.
It counts down in days, hours, minutes, then seconds.
If you want one that counts down in just days, go here: [link]
It is a mod of [link] and the font it has as default is from [link] (I wanted them to match on my desktop, but you can change the font to whatever you like).

Also, it is set to count down to August 24th, when Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins comes out, but you can change to any date you want in the "Target Date and Time" section.

Hi, great skin -
For your next release you may want to add in the following 2 lines;

Substitute="^(\d)$":"0\1"
RegExpSubstitute=1

to the 3 Measures;
MeasureHoursDisplay
MeasureMinutesDisplay
MeasureSecondsLeftThisMinute

This will mean that, for example, eight minutes get displayed as "08" instead of "8", which means the clock display spacing doesn't jump about too much as it counts down.

That and the MeasureDaysDisplay fix in the comments.

Also for some reason on initial load a negative figure is given for days ( In my case "-354" . It goes back to the expected Day value after the first tick. Any ideas.

For anyone still having issues with the Hours not being right I have a fix

You change the

[MeasureDaysDisplay]
Measure=Calc
Formula=MeasureHoursLeftToday > 23 ? MeasureDayDiff : MeasureDayDiff - 1

[MeasureDaysDisplay]
Measure=Calc
Formula= MeasureYearDiff > 0 ? MeasureTDaysDiffFromEOY + MeasureDaysXTEST + ( (
MeasureYearDiff - 1 ) * 365 ) : MeasureTDaysDiffFromEOY + MeasureDaysXTEST + (
MeasureYearDiff * 365 )

And I believe that is all that I changed.

Thanks for the awesome countdown clock, but I'm having a few issues with it:
I tried making a countdown to the Diablo 3 launch, but it's always 30 days too short, no matter how I change it.

Isn't there any way to simply add "+30" to the number that is shown? Where would I have to type it in?

For anyone who needs to know in the future, the problem is because of this:

January = 0
February = 1
March=2
April=3
May=4

and so on.

Sorry, I tried adding 30 and everything I did just gave me an error message. I do not really know how to use Rainmeter fluently, and if you keep having trouble I suggest you try them directly.

The clock on that website is counting down to the 23rd, not the 24th.

This is going to sound really nooby, but I can't quite get the countdown working properly. I've looked through the comments on this page but I still can't fix it. Anyways, here's my dilemma:

I want to set the countdown to the 11th of november 2011 at 8:30am, i.e. the time of midnight in sweden from my local time of +9.30 for the minecraft full release. I went through and fiddled with the ini and set it to this:

Measure=Calc
Formula= 11

[MeasureTMonth]
Measure=Calc
Formula= 2011

[MeasureTDay]
Measure=Calc
Formula= 11

[MeasureTHour]
Measure=Calc
Formula= 8

[MeasureTMinute]
Measure=Calc
Formula= 30

However, instead of showing 60 days and etc hours like it should, it is showing -1 days. I'm assuming that I've done something really dumb, since I'm very new to rainmeter, but I can't quite work out what it is.

Anyway, this is honestly a great little skin and I hope you can help.

Well, the first part is year and the second part is month, not the other way around.
Also, years should be expressed as years after 2000, so your first two parts should look like this:

Measure=Calc
Formula= 11

Hmm, that's weird. I'm trying months 10, 11, and 12 and they all say 28 days, and anything I try for year 12 is saying 28 days also. This is a major bug! I don't know why this hasn't been an issue before or why it is one now.
While I try to fix this, here's an uglier skin that actually works! [link]

I was changing the fonts and colours so it matches lilshizzy's simple media skin, so looks aren't much of a problem.

I love this skin and have been using it happily for a long time. I recently had to reinstall windows, and I found that the new version you uploaded didn't work for me. The clock seemed to ignore the years and months. For example...

gave the same number on the countdown as setting the TYear to 12 and the TMonth to 8. I don't really understand the script, but I got things to work correctly when I changed [MeasureDaysDisplay] from

Formula=MeasureHoursLeftToday > 23 ? MeasureDayDiff : MeasureDayDiff - 1

to

[MeasureDaysDisplay]
Measure=Calc
Formula=MeasureHoursLeftToday > 23 ? MeasureTotalDays : MeasureTotalDays - 1

First, I'm glad that you like it and have been using it, that's always nice to hear. Second, thanks for the fix! That's an odd error and I hope no else has too much trouble with the new version, but if I get more reports I'll upload a newer version with your fix (with credit given, of course)

huh, i did someone different i changed the "[MeasureHoursLeftToday]" to "Formula=-1 - MeasureHour + MeasureTHour"
no clue if this is right, as i havent seen a full day cycle of the clock to see if anything goes wrong.

my version failed so i copied yours, but the day is 1 off, but that doesnt matter, could be my fault, so i just set the day 1 less

You could add zeros artificially in the prefixes, but I'm afraid I don't remember how to do what you are asking for without messing up the math that makes it work.

So I'm using this great skin for the countdown until Portal 2 is released...But I can't get the hours to display correctly.
I need it to count down to 1pm of the day I have it form but I'm not sure what to type in for it. I tried 13 but that didn't work.

When you put in a day, it counts to midnight of that day. So if you want 1 pm of a certain day, you have to put in the day BEFORE the one you want, then 13.

This is the best event countdown for Rainmeter that I've been able to find, probably the best, period. Thank you so much for making this.

But, I was wondering if you could tell me how to make it display just the days, instead of the days, hours, minutes, and seconds. I'm new to Rainmeter so I'm having trouble figuring it out myself. I tried removing all of the meters except for [MeterTotalDays], and that seems to work, except that the skin doesn't display the whole number. I'd really appreciate your help.
